| The duffel bags of yore were actually cylindrical in shape, not rectangular, as is the style with which we have become most familiar today. Since these bags are no longer strictly manufactured from the heavy woolen fabric made famous by the Antwerp province city of Duffel, true duffel bags nowadays refer to the rounded style of the originals.
Modestly designed in the spirit of old-fashioned duffels, these bags are more or less 600-Denier polyester tubes with handles and a shoulder strap. Other than the zippered main compartment (which takes up the entirety of the bag's interior dimensions, amounting to a very generous storage space!), a velcro pocket on the front of the bag offers a smidgen more room for small personal effects like papers or documents, car keys, or a cell phone.
Available in black or navy blue, these duffels come in six different sizes ranging from the meager extra small at 16" x 9" x 9" to the mammoth giganto size at 40" x 18" x 18". The two smallest sizes are certified by Kickin' A Packs 'N Stuff for use as airline carry-ons.
Popular with sailors, soldiers, athletes, and outdoorsmen, these affordable bags make a fine choice for carrying around whatever it is you need to carry around! |
