| The Jampack 3500 XL is certainly one of our largest backpacks to date. With nearly 2000 cubic inches of storage space, the goal while developing the next installment in our popular Jampack series of backpacks was to create something that was positively humongous yet intelligently laid-out for versatile, easy, everyday use.
A number of popular features, much-requested by customers over the years and spanning a wide array of contemporary backpacks, are all brought together in this single product. We simply can't imagine squeezing any more performance or value out of this bag - frankly speaking, there's not a whole lot we left out. (Our humble way of saying: "We did it! It's all there, baby!!")
First and foremost, let's discuss size and get it out of the way. At 13.5" x 20" x 8", we like to describe the Jampack 3500 XL as "comfortably huge" - that is to say, it's big without ultimately becoming cumbersome. After all, this bag isn't intended to perform like some framed hiking backpack, and therefore common day-to-day wear and tear were taken into account whilst developing this pack. Constructed primarily of 600-Denier polyester, the expansive surface space of the bag easily permits the colossal number of roomy pockets, and was essential to pulling off such a feature-rich design.
The main zippered compartment is particularly magnificent and will take a considerable number of items before filling to capacity. In practical terms, we couldn't push the interior dimensions of this everyday backpack much further without it becoming an entirely different and far less practical product. If you're attending school and find yourself loaded down with tons of binders, textbooks, and other artifacts of academic import, or a traveler looking to bring along a change of clothes, mobile vittles, maps, and anything else that may come in handy while trekking about, the Jampack 3500 XL will take good care of you!
Ever since portable tape (and later, compact disc) players became widely accessible, pockets built especially for these devices have always been in demand, principally among students. These days, MP3 players are the weapons of choice for everybody's favorite thousand-song playlist. The Jampack earns its namesake by way of the included zippered MP3 player pocket, which you'll find more than supple enough for most of the better-known models out there (the pocket was designed explicitly with Apple's products in mind).
An integrated headphone adapter lets you plug in directly to the backpack, so you can rock out between classes (or even secretly in class, you little devil! With the pack draped over the rear of your seat, you could run a pair of earbud headphones up your back and over your shoulder without drawing too much attention to yourself... uh, not that we recommend foregoing intellectual growth in favor of the latest Billboard Top 100).
In terms of auxiliary storage pockets, the Jampack 3500 XL has it all and then some. An outstanding zippered mesh pouch (not something often seen, as mesh + zippers = difficult to sew), located just below the MP3 holder, has proven just wonderful for all those little extras you need ready to go at a moment's notice. Below this pocket are two more remarkably spacious zippered pockets, the larger of which contains a full-featured organizer. The rugged, riveted daisy loop near the center of the bag is great for suspending accessories like umbrellas and sweatshirts. The right side of the Jampack features a broad, zippered gusset pocket, whereas a mesh pouch on the left side provides ample storage for a water bottle (or whatever else you'd like to tuck down into there!).
With a serious potential for carrying lots and lots of heavy stuff, special care has been invested in ensuring the Jampack 3500 XL can sustain its own structural integrity without breaking your spine (a definite no-no in the backpack business... and, we suppose, the medical business, too!). The reinforced, double-seamed shoulder straps are thick and padded, and the carry handle/suspension loop on top has been cushioned to facilitate smooth and painless transport. Additionally, four nylon compression straps let you adjust the overall profile of the Jampack for greater stability and less load-shifting.
