| This is a special, limited production build of our extremely well-received and highly popular SIDEKICK gun pack. Each one is made by hand to order, assembled by a member of our production team in our Southern California workshop, about thirty minutes out from downtown Los Angeles.
The gun pack is made entirely of 1000-denier Cordura, a premium nylon material exhibiting incredible resistance to both abrasion and tearing. It readily shrugs off UV rays, temperature extremes, dirt, oil, and moisture that would reduce most fabrics (both synthetic and natural) to faded, rotten tatters.
This limited production pack is dyed in a never-before-seen two-tone combination called “Crimson Heart,” with a maroon primary and a pink secondary for a one of a kind aesthetic that most certainly does not broadcast the pack’s intended use as a firearm concealment device. The Cordura fabric has a beautiful luster in open sunlight, and this gorgeous pack is just perfect for all our many female fans out there who have been requesting better, more varied color options for their feminine tastes!
The zippers are YKK number 8 coils. These are the best coil zippers on the planet, bar none. YKK’s fearsome reputation for precision casting and exceptional workmanship has been well-earned through decades of impeccably low failure rates. They operate smooth as butter and can endure enormous environmental rigors without deteriorating or presenting noticeable performance degradation.
We have also implemented “stealth zippers” on the Sidekick in the form of Cordura zipper pulls as opposed to the steel pulls normally attached to the slider, which completely eliminates the pack’s acoustic profile. At a brisk walk or a full run or somewhere in between, the Sidekick doesn’t make a sound!
The Sidekick has three zippered compartments total. The front two are designed to hold personal effects such as wallets, keys, cell phones, as well as other everyday belongings such as sunglasses, medication, or even snacks (many customers wear their Sidekicks while walking their dog, and use these extra compartments to store doggy biscuits!).
The center compartment features two elastic-nylon magazine holders that have been integrated directly into the pack. They’ll handle all standard mags with no problems. These holders also work well for knives, flashlights, or other self-defense weapons such as pepper spray canisters or stun guns.
The weapon compartment, located behind both auxiliary pockets, is completely safe for gun finishes and padded with absorbent foam to provide some limited but valuable shock protection for your piece. The compartment is accessed via our patented double-zipper buckle release system. Just grab the buckle, detach it, and pull forward. As you do so, dual zippers will break away in opposite directions, allowing you to quickly present your weapon in a self-defense crisis. No other gun pack on the market provides such an innocuous, simple, and rapid solution to the problem of deploying the firearm from a concealed carry pouch.
Speaking of buckles, those used on the Sidekick are made from acetal resin (also known as polyoxymethylene), a completely unbreakable engineering-grade thermoplastic used in high-stress applications such as a metal substitute in industrial machinery, piping for chemical processing plants, and as liquid fuel canisters in rockets. Pretty sweet, huh?
The Sidekick was originally intended to be worn on one’s own belt by way of a pair of nylon belt loops (accepting a maximum 2” belt), although you may also choose to have a polypropylene belt integrated on your Sidekick if you wish (this is the same webbing used on our Original Tommy’s Gun Pack). You may also upgrade this belt to a heavyweight nylon webbing rated with a 7700-pound breaking force and just about indestructible any way you look at it. It comes in two finishes – Glossflex, which is soft and pliable, and Mattestock, which is super stiff and not pliable at all. Elastic belt keepers help to maintain a clean and tidy appearance.
The Sidekick is backed by our lifetime guarantee, so if the material or workmanship ever fails you (and they won’t, because we use the best materials available and our workmen are as skilled, exacting, and meticulous as any you’ll ever meet), we will repair your pack or replace it for free.
